Insurance privacy notice

This notice covers the information you share with Billy for insurance quotes, applications and policies. The site's general privacy policy covers everything else on robles.agency. Effective October 25, 2026.

  • Never soldWe do not sell your information
  • 30 business daysTo answer a written request to see or correct it
  • No SSNs onlineThe website never asks for them

What we collect

From you. The insurance forms on this site ask for your name, phone, ZIP code, preferred language, and optionally your email, the kind of coverage you want and short answers about the property, rental or business. They never ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, dates of birth or vehicle identification numbers.

If you decide to apply, the insurance company's application may need more, such as dates of birth, driver's license numbers or prior claims. Billy collects those only to complete the application you asked for, by phone or in person, or the company collects them in its own system.

From others. To decide whether to insure you and at what price, insurance companies may get information from other sources, such as claim history databases (for example a CLUE report), driving records, property records and inspections, and public records. The insurance company, not Billy, usually orders these reports.

How we use it

  • To compare options and request quotes from the insurance companies you agree to.
  • To complete and submit an application you ask for.
  • To help with your policy afterward: changes, renewals, billing questions and understanding a claim.
  • To keep the records insurance rules require, and to prevent fraud.

When we share it

We share your information only as needed to serve you and as the law allows:

  • With the insurance companies you ask Billy to get quotes from or apply to, and with the licensed wholesale agency Billy works through for some companies.
  • With service providers that help us run the site and deliver your request (hosting, email, and Google, which stores requests in a private Google Sheet). Details are in the site privacy policy.
  • The online quote tool on the business insurance page is run by Thimble Insurance Services. Information you type into it goes straight to Thimble under its own privacy policy; we receive what Thimble shares with Billy as the broker on your policy.
  • When the law requires or allows it without your permission, for example to the Department of Insurance or other regulators, to detect or prevent fraud, or in response to a court order.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with companies outside these purposes for their own marketing. California law requires your explicit consent before a financial institution shares your nonpublic personal information with unaffiliated companies, and we don't ask for that consent because we don't share it that way.

Each insurance company has its own privacy notice, which it gives you when it collects information or delivers the policy. That notice explains how the company itself uses and shares your information.

Other privacy laws that apply

Insurance information is also covered by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the California Financial Information Privacy Act. For insurance, California's Department of Insurance writes and enforces these rules. Information collected under those laws is generally outside the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Website information that isn't part of an insurance transaction, such as how you found the site, is covered by the CCPA rights explained in the site privacy policy.

A new California insurance privacy law (SB 354, signed in 2026) will replace the current rules, with its first parts starting July 1, 2028. It adds a right to delete and new consent rules. We will update this notice before it applies to Billy.

Security and how long we keep it

The site uses HTTPS on every page. Requests are kept in a private Sheet that only Billy, as site manager, can open. We keep insurance records as long as insurance recordkeeping rules require, then delete them. Website requests that never became a quote or policy are deleted after two years.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details or health information by email or through the website.
